Here is a poster I designed for the Font Kingdom. The most effective promotion tells an entertaining and meaningful story. Type, images, and color are like a cast of characters, each dressed in a carefully chosen wardrobe. The page layout is the setting in which the characters interact. Like a good plot, expository text shows what is and what could be, if certain actions are taken. Like a good story, an effective promotion sticks to one theme, one central idea or concept.
